Tamal
Tamal was found in October of 2023, starving and with a very bad infection. Despite his circumstances, his tail never stopped wagging, even during vet exams!
Tamal is an energetic boy who needs exercise and loves lots of play! He really wants and needs to be near his humans to feel confident (this should improve over time as he learns to trust the world again). Since his tongue hangs out, he can drool a bit, and needs his mouth wiped off every now and then.
Tamal is an absolute joy! He loves life, is absolutely adorable, and is so grateful he was rescued. He loves to snuggle, loves to be involved in everything, and makes everyone smile.
Sex: Male
Age: 2 years (approximately)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Health concerns: A fractured jaw that healed incorrectly. Tamal has only a few teeth, and his mouth cannot fully open, so his tongue hangs out. Surgery on his jaw is not guaranteed to give him better quality of life, since Tamal can eat, is not in pain, and is a very happy dog.
Size: medium-small
Cat-friendly: Seems to be
Dog-friendly: Yes! Tamal loves every other dog in the world and loves to play!
Kid friendly: Yes. An older child would be better since Tamal uses his paws a lot (in lieu of his mouth) and could inadvertently scratch a youngster.
Kennel-trained: Yes. Tamal sleeps in his kennel at night
Leash-walking: Yes.
